Simple Tactics for Battle

Put on the Armor of GodWe as Christians can forget simple tactics to equip us for the battle that comes our way. Some of us act as if we are chickens with our heads cut off running around completely clueless of the enemies’ entrapments. So easily we become like a prisoner in jail and the one phone call we make will not help us in any way.

In this article, I hope to inspire the children of God to invest more into finding out the necessary equipment and divine revelation that is needed in this spiritual warfare that we are engaged in from the moment we say “I Do.”

Christians today seek for the prophetic more than they seek for the Word of God. Always looking for the prophets to come to town, but yet when someone says, “I’m going to preach” there seems to be a less attendance. The Word is the very thing that births the prophetic. It is interesting to me how most of us walk around with amazing prophetic words over our lives but have no scriptural basis or references to equip us for that calling. For example, if someone was given the word “God has given you the spirit of David,” you can almost expect the jezebel spirit to follow you. That can be the major spiritual warfare in your walk. You will continually be fighting to keep repentance, love, and self-control in your life.

We must be aware that when God gives us a word and revelation about which we are, it is imperative to study it to see how the enemy tested each person in the Bible. Most of us walk around and live each day unaware of the forces with which the enemy attacks us, and can be easily conquered by just studying the patterns of God and knowing the word backwards and forwards. I cannot understand why some Christians tend to blame God for some of the horrific things that they endure, when God has clearly given us the equipment for battle. We walk in the enemies’ camp with no armor and wonder why we are always depressed, weak, bitter, etcetera. Deuteronomy 8:3 says, “we do not live on bread alone but on every word that comes out of the mouth of the Lord.” This means that we cannot live without the word of God, but yet we walk around starving.

The mentality that we carry is that we can do it on our own; we allow our spirits to walk independent from God. We enter into a cycle of defeat by letting our ways override His ways. We must always be on high alert and be able to recognize our weakness and temptations that come our way.

1 Peter 5:8 says to be vigilant because the devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Being vigilant and knowing how the enemy operates is the most important and vital to our lives. The Lord has given us the best resource. Now it is high time we start using it.

When He knocks at the door I run to answer.
My soul trembles at the thought of Him.
Could this be the One whose eyes are like flames that burn my heart?
Is it He, whose passion for me is never seizing,
And whose embrace wraps me in a joy that lifts all sorrow.
The earnest groaning of my heart leaves me to no rest.
My tears run down like drops of rain from the sky, I must have Him.
My words have miserably failed me; they could never grasp the magnificence of Him.
For many waters cannot quench this love The rivers could never wash it away.
I am my Beloved’s and He is mine. All other love is but a fading flower in a field.
Only He will last, only He will ever remain.
The earth closes their eyes and sleeps, lowed away by songs of peace and safety.
Delusive promises are made that entrance the ages to follow the wicked.
Who will run with the fire in the night with the sound that awakens?
Where are the watchmen on the wall?
Call the names of those who are fearless of the enemy, and vow to only one purpose?
Surely there is some who see and hear.
The arresting power is in the hands of the one who will run.
Will anyone proclaim righteousness?
The buildings have crumbled.
The innocent blood continues to cry from the ground,
And the nations turn to unbelief.
The war is raging.
Let reality start to grip the hearts of the ones who will run.
